Course description: Arabic for business courses are designed to develop the business learners’ conversational skills in a range of business situations and contexts, while allowing the learner to practise Arabic structures, expressions and idioms in relation to their industry. Our business-oriented programmes will give learners the language skills and confidence they need to, not only discuss professional issues coherently, but also communicate effectively in Arabic for their specific role. Sharek Centre uses specifically designed materials to present Arabic usage in a variety of business contexts, topics and themes. Our classes and workshops are learner-focussed and our business programme content is structured around two components: daily life including subjects ranging from literature and media to politics and the economy to health and social life; and business themes. These elements enable learners to communicate with native Arabic speakers rapidly and effectively, while experiencing the language as it is actually used in the Arabic-speaking world. Learners have the opportunity to practise spoken Arabic through discussions, debates and conversation activities, such as role-play, pair-work and simulation, while analysis of written materials—through reading general and business texts, emails, reports and news—provides students with an understanding of relevant written Arabic.
